One 77 mortgages
Every now and again you come into contact with a company that deserves a bit of a shout out. Maybe they are doing something different and shaking their industry up in a healthy way, maybe their values reflect yours, or maybe they just did a stunning bit of work that cries out for some recognition. Well, we thought we’d start a regular slot called PSG Rates, to do just that.
We are not in the business of recommending anyone (our regulator has clear definitions for who can do that) and these pieces should never be construed as a promotion and in addition and for the avoidance of doubt, there is nothing in this for us apart from the warm glow we get from singing someone else’s praises.
So to kick things off, meet One 77 Mortgages, a young but already multi-award winning firm of fees free mortgage and protection brokers based in Wiltshire. One 77 have an enviable reputation backed by a five-star rating from their customers on Review Centre. Well played. How do you enter an already fiercely competitive market and make those sorts of inroads? Jonathan Swift, Business Development and Marketing Manager for One 77 partly attributes this to their service being “primarily telephony based which means they offer national coverage, and are available seven days a week and outside of normal working hours”. How refreshingly client centric.
Established in 2010 by Alastair McKee the company began as figuratively ‘one man and his dog’. Things have moved on somewhat and One 77 are currently in the process of moving to considerably larger premises as the team has now swelled to nineteen staff (and two dogs), and is still growing. The name ‘One 77 Mortgages’ was born of the fact that on the day the company was set up, Alastair had access to one hundred and seventy-seven different mortgage lenders. Not a bad start.
As you might expect, One 77 have a wealth of knowledge and experience in the UK mortgage and protection industries and have access to a wide range of products from across the market. They have the ability to offer the right advice to their customers, communicate with them clearly and deliver on their promises. That’s an important part of why we like them, after all, aren’t we all bored of, and somewhat desensitised to, uniform promises of excellent customer service made by organisations who routinely break those promises?
We know that this is not how One 77 operate, and as Jonathan explains,
“One 77 are an excellent first port of call for someone looking for a mortgage, having access to specialist products not available to consumers on the High Street as well as lenders who specifically deal with high net worth individuals”. It’s about adding value, there’s plenty of brokers out there, but is there much of a choice? One 77 recognise that if every broker is essentially offering the same service, that’s not really a choice.
One 77 aren’t a one trick pony either, they deal with all forms of mortgages including buy to let, portfolio lending and commercial mortgages. A particular speciality of theirs is dealing with New Build mortgages, and over the last twelve months they have been added to all of the major lenders specialist New Build ‘panels’. This gives One 77 access to exclusive New Build products available to only a handful of brokers around the country. They are very familiar with all of the Government backed schemes such as Help to Buy and have this year been added to their recommended broker panel in the South of England. In addition to ‘conventional’ mortgages One 77 are able to provide specialist expertise and advice on bridging finance and development loans.
It’s not just mortgages and property finance that One 77 we can help their clients with either. An equally important part of owning a property is ‘protection’; the insurances that are available to protect clients and their families in the event the worst should happen. One 77 deal in all forms of personal insurance, business protection and even buildings and contents insurance. They source their insurance products from across the market, and only recommend providers who offer the best possible cover and service, ensuring that if and when you need to make a claim on your policy you are able to do so with the minimum amount if hassle at what is likely to already be a trying time.
