What’s new at PSG?
It’s a new year (again!), the heating is finally on in the office and Christmas is already something that we can’t be sure even happened. 2015 was a year of very positive change here at PSG, and we thought it was about time that we fill you all in!
Let’s start with the pretty big news that in May of last year, PSG became 100% owner operated. The existing Board of Directors completed a share buyout and in doing so, put PSG in a great position for its expanding team as well as for existing and future clients. We’ve never been so busy!
We also welcomed three new additions to the office team here in Corsham during 2015, which means that tea consumption is at its highest point thus far and our office is feeling cosier than ever! The first new addition is Ross Holbrook who joined us in March as our newest Portfolio Administrator, now well into his training and also well on his way to a full portfolio of scheme’s; Ross is a happy addition to the team with a flair for all things technical.
Then in May we were joined by Josh Hyland who is blazing a trail as our first Trainee Technical Consultant. Josh’s main focus, once fully trained, will be to extend our Technical Consultancy offering alongside Duncan Parsons and is already adding real value to both the building of relationships with new and existing introducers and, when he’s not out and about, much needed resource in the office.
The most recent addition is Kathryn Stanley who boarded the PSG ship in October; Kathryn is our brand spanking new Administrator and we look forward to watching her develop over the coming months.
Cakes are healthy too, you just eat a small slice.
The increase in colleagues here in Corsham has inadvertently led to an increase in cake, with a cake-worthy occasion seemingly every week.
Natalie Pike is deserving of her own paragraph in this update, with two headline grabbing moves in 2015. The first occurred last summer when Nat was made our newest executive director. Having been with PSG for several years and in due recognition of everything she has done and continues to do for us, it was an entirely logical step and thoroughly well deserved! The second bit of news is that having then skipped off on Maternity Leave at the end of November (booooo!), Nat gave birth to her second Pikelet on New Years’ Day (hooray!) and Mother and Baby are both very well.
Fortunately, Nat handed over many of her responsibilities to Tracey Faulkner & Sue Logan. However whilst we aren’t ones to wish our lives away, Nat will be sorely missed here and although she hasn’t been gone five minutes, we are already looking forward to welcoming her back towards the end of this year!
Whilst on the subject of Tracey & Sue, both took on new roles last year which more accurately reflect the great work they do for us and again are well and truly deserved. Tracey took on the role of Portfolio Manager and oversees our growing team of lovely administrators. Meanwhile Sue took on Nat’s previous role of Projects and Process Manager, which more accurately reflects what she has been doing for us over the last couple of years. Well done to both.
Finally and to round off all things HR, on the 1st February, we are welcoming our first Personal Assistant – Julie Norris. We can’t wait for Julie to be in the office and not just because of her assertion that she makes a mean Victoria Sponge. A very accomplished PA and a consummate professional, we very much look forward to the difference she will make to the Board and to the office in general.
The well-oiled cogs of the PSG machine keep turning and as brilliant and landmark a year as 2015 was, 2016 looks set to be even better. We will keep you posted as more developments are in the pipeline…
